Spend a day in the exclusive Pedro Majagua hotel on this day tour to Rosario Islands on a boat trip from Cartagena. The hotel is situated on Isla Grande, the largest island of the Islas del Rosario to 50 minutes away from the city by boat ride from Muelle de la Bodeguita. The island was as originally the home and place of inspiration of the French painter Pierre Daguet (1903-1980).
This special hotel is a place designed to showcase its natural environment surrounded by big trees. It offers private beach access into the wild Rosario Islands. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby and restaurant area. It's a fabulous experience, which feels much like being on a private island.
Upon arrival, the pristine beauty of the Island reveals itself in splendid fashion, with most arrivals landing onto a strip of fine white sand. The water here is clear and perfect for snorkeling. The coral reefs around Isla Grande are home to an abundance of fish and other sea creatures. If the crystal clear waters are not your thing, the beach of Pedro Majagua is home to white sandy beaches that are close to perfect postcard. There are different activities to do during this excursion, from diving or snorkeling, to ecological walks around the island, and even paddle boarding.
After a tasty local lunch under the shade of its majestic trees (the Majagua Tree), it is time to either head back to the sand or swim around and further explore the island’s surroundings. There are plenty of things to see and do outside, which blend into the laidback atmosphere.
Relax on one of the beaches in the afternoon, with enough free time to soak up the sun and swim in the turquoise sea before you are ready to head back to to Cartagena around 3:00 p.m, or before, depending on weather conditions.
The Rosario Islands are formed by coral banks where the crystal-clear water and small beaches make it the best option to have a relaxing day outside of Cartagena.
One of the beaches at Pedro de Majagua is under maintenance and will be closed until further notice. The other beach will remain available for visitor's use.
