Cartagena Bay Kayak Excursion – Explore the Waterfront and Punta Arena
Your adventure begins at Castillo Grande Beach, where you’ll meet your guide for a safety briefing. Your guide will assist with any necessary adjustments to your kayak and discuss the planned route. Once you’re comfortable with the basic paddling and safety techniques, it’s time to hop into your sea kayak and explore the stunning waterfront of Cartagena from the water.
The journey from Cartagena to Punta Arena by kayak is approximately 3 kilometers. Thanks to an underwater wall built at the turn of the century to deter pirates, the waters of Cartagena Bay are extremely calm and easy to navigate. You’ll be paddling in a low tidal zone, making this excursion accessible even for beginner kayakers, with no difficulty reaching the shores of Punta Arena.
Once you arrive, relax on the beach, listen to the sounds of exotic Caribbean birdlife, and soak up the Cartagena sunshine from the unique vantage point of Tierra Bomba. All equipment is provided for this excursion, including your kayak, life jacket, and insurance. Refreshingly cold water and snacks are also available free of charge upon request.
