Macaws Wildlife Sanctuary Tour from Cartagena – Nature, Wildlife & Adventure

Regular price US$169

Step into the world of conservation at Fundación Loros, a 1,300-acre natural reserve located just one hour from Cartagena. This sanctuary is dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing parrots and macaws rescued from illegal trafficking. With breathtaking landscapes and meaningful activities, this immersive experience lets you connect deeply with nature while directly contributing to wildlife protection.

This half-day eco-adventure combines wildlife encounters, horseback riding, and a fun UTV off-road experience. It’s an ideal tour for travelers who want to experience nature beyond the beaches, while contributing to a real conservation project.

Your experience begins with a traditional Colombian snack, followed by a guided visit to the wildlife rehabilitation center. Here, you’ll learn about ongoing conservation efforts and even help feed rescued parrots and macaws alongside local biologists.

Next, enjoy a scenic horseback ride through forested trails and rolling hills. Along the way, keep an eye out for howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, cotton-top tamarins, and a wide variety of tropical birds. You’ll also pass through local farms, learning how nearby communities help protect this ecosystem.

The adventure continues with a guided UTV / 4x4 ride across rugged terrain. Before heading back, you’ll take part in a symbolic tree planting activity, leaving a positive impact on the sanctuary.
